Jerry Pollard
🎸 What is up everybody!? 🎸 Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself! My name is Jerry, I am 34 and I was born into a musical family here in Southern California. While my pops played guitar and sang, my mom laid down the keys and I kept the beat. As a youngster, my parents would have me learn the drums to the songs they already knew. Songs by The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin and the list goes on... I fell in love with the ability to connect with people through music and couldn't get enough of it I eventually convinced my dad to let me keep one of his acoustic guitars in my room so I could learn to play Learning the guitar brought me a whole different appreciation for the skill and dedication it takes just to get the dang thing to sound right! - "You have to do what?" - "Make sure all these strings are in tune all the time?!" - "Why is this so painful on the sweetest part of my fingertips?  There's not as much instant gratification as opposed to taking sticks and whacking away at cymbals and drums. That's what interested me most in incorporating my rhythm into something new, always on the lookout for new challenges. I learned cool little riffs from friends and youtube, reading some easier guitar tabs from websites like ultimate guitar and tab crawler With plenty of practice, sore fingers and broken strings but I finally got to the point I felt comfortable just sitting at the beach and playing in front of people walking by I've always wanted to learn more about what exactly it is that I'm playing and how to play the more mellow songs like Jack Johnson and John Mayer vibes Being able to run around on a big stage with a wireless guitar sounds like a dream to me... AND DREAMS DO COME TRUE!  "What I got" by Sublime is one of my favorite songs to play and sing along to and my current guitar is an Ibanez Acoustic with D'Addario Strings and Orange Dunlop Tortex .60mm Guitar Picks -Attached are the guitars I've had and various pics along the journey- Now we aren't strangers! 😛  2

DHosinsk01
I have to agree with the others.  Nice intro.  Very creative.  Mine is very mundane in comparison. LOL Thank you for letting us know something about yourself. I can totally understand your want to understand what makes the fretboard talk. I attached some pics of my current guitars   1

Hello!  Yes the Bog Street make great picks.  Honestly, I got a bunch of picks from SCHECTER  and I love using them.  I guess I’ll change a bunch more as I learn.
