Scales ,and using them for solo's

Question

My question is i seem to always use the Pentatonic scales over my riffs and like the sound. I've learned all the patterns somewhat and comfortable using them .

When i started lessons on Breakthrough Guitar i started with Major scales. I do practice these sometimes but not enough .

If i had some examples of riffs. with Major scales used and like the sound i'd be more likely to learn them. I realize there is more to scales then solo's but i at least need to be wanting to memorize major scales more.

Hi Alan here I've just shared a good clip from Brian to fellow members Nigel, Brent & Barbara. It uses the C chord triad at 5th fret, if you add pinky at 6th fret high e you get C7. Then you can mix pentatonic between fret 5 and 7 also major scale notes & come up with some nice stuff, then add F triad at fret 10. Other triads that fit nice are in this clip, then Brian shows nice riff development using mixoleniam. I think it's very good.

If you want to take a look more send me your e mail and I'll forward clip to you. My mail alandesmond2014@gmaiil.com
