Michael326
I am a beginner and have a question. Learning chords especially the C and G chords. Trying to hit these chords cleanly is taking me a lot of time. How much time is normal learning these chords. It seems like I need about a week on each? Perhaps I am doing something wrong? Some come much easier than others for me. Getting to hit them cleanly is a work in progress. Any tips???

For guitar playing takes a lot of practice. Do the dexterity each day slowly deliberately first and gradually speed up. If you get frustrated try just playing 3 note chords called triads. Just google that. Lots of exercises out there's
Fred Soukup
@Michael326 Another way is to build the C chord from the G backwards instead of trying to hit the index finger on the B string first, place your middle finger in position on the D string then your ring finger on the A and your index on the B last. practice switching that way and you will find the transition is much easier. You will also find the dexterity exercises very helpful as well. Fred 🎸 Edited March 9 by Fred Soukup
Michael326
Thank you for the advice. I am going to try it. I appreciate all the advice I can get! The finger exercises are doing some good. Sometimes it seems overwhelming and impossible to move up and down the fretboard like you do. Thank you for the response.
Fred Soukup
We have all been there. It is a pleasure to share what we have learned so that you and others can progress. BTG is awesome as you go through the courses you will grow as you do them as taught. Fred 🎸
