Glenn Gay
I saw a post earlier regarding how somebody originally got into guitar and where they went from there. I am 58 years old right now, and my big brother first showed me 3 chords when I was 8. G, C, and D I believe. Since then, I have learned 98% of what I know by ear, and 2% from fellow guitar players, and jamming with them. I was born in 1962, and quickly became very familiar with the old "OUTLAW COUNTREY" I don't mean my "Dog has Died" or "My truck is out of Gas" - I mean the likes of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, George Jones etc. My next older brother and my Oldest brother, Now Since Past""" used to get together and jam all the time. Of course back then neither cared for rock & Roll much, so my introduction to different genre's was limited.... However: over the years I did manage to learn some Rock & Roll, my all time favorite Hard Rock Band AC/DC, and of course my all time favorite guitarist...SRV Oh - and who could forget Neil Young..... The bottom line is this, it really doesn't matter what type of music influences you or not, as long as your guitar is where it should be (in your hands") the music you play and love will live on forever as long as you have that Passion to replicate it 🤘🤘
