drichers
Hi. I am going through the lightbulb moment lesson for the second time. In part 2, we learn the 7 notes starting on the ninth fret of string three. The notes are EFGABCD. How do I determine the chords that sound good with that? Thanks Debbie R

Thanks Debbie R I would recommend going over the course Instantly know the right chords or how to play any chord anywhere on the neck. emoshurchak
Debbie, Jonathan has very cleverly developed the 5-note pattern which is really box 2 of Am pentatonic into a C major scale by adding two additional notes. The keynote is C #6 on the first string. Try a C major backing track over this 7-note pattern. An Am backing track will also work because C is the relative major of Am and they contain the same notes, just in a different order. Once you understand this you can easily move the pattern to other keys. Edited April 1, 2022 by emoshurchak
