Dennis Spillman
Hello Mike, Dennis here from central Oklahoma and I'm of your age group (75 middle of next month) and haven't picked up a guitar in 30 years. My journey with Jonathan so far has been enlightening to say the least. Back when I did play, in the mid 60's, there was no rhyme or reason to what I'd learned, it was all by ear and copying someone else's work. Composing or improvising on my own was never my deal and I'm really looking forward to taking the fright out of trying.
Hal53
Hi, I'm Hal. I will be 69 in 12 days and I want to be able to improvise and create soulful blues licks to satisfy my music curiosity I started with an acoustic while serving time in county lockup using one Hal Leonard book on chords and a CCR Cosmos Factory songbook back in 1971. Frustration from not being able to progress from simple chords to more complicated chord shapes and strumming patterns caused me to give it up until I became unable to work due to disabilities. With lots of free time on my hands I wanted to learn the proper way to play without thinking and to play with feeling, so I searched through You Tube videos for guidance and got more frustrated the more I searched until I found Breakthrough Guitar. I'm old and I'm slow, but I'm not dead. I still have the capacity to learn new things.

Jhelfrich21
Hi, I’m Jack. I’ve been playing for a while, but just rhythm. I want to expand my knowledge and learn how to add something extra to my rhythm playing. I think scales and arpeggios will help a lot. Paul McMullin
Hi All, My name is Paul. I've been messing around with the guitar for 5 years. I have signed up for access to all of Jonathan's courses on Breakthrough Guitar and have taken a couple of his masterclasses. Looking forward to this one as it would be nice to make scales sound like music because let's face it, we have to practice our scales, no way around it (sorry to be the bearer of bad news)! BackupBob
Hi, I'm Bob and finally learning to play. This is my first class like this and I hope not my last. I use BackupBob for a user name because I did some playing with a couple of garage bands in my teens but only as backup. I learned a lot of chords and could fill in a little when needed but never learned how to play any lead. That was over 50 years ago. Now retired, I'm trying to learn scales and some lead improvisation. It's like starting over.
