Rob Streander
Greetings All! I am Rob from Kentucky. I will soon turn 68. I've spent 50 years searching for the elusive answer that so many guitarists I've seen seem to have found. I had only one forced break, a ten year absence called marriage, in which my 73 Les Paul Custom sat, patiently awaiting my return. My determination having never waned, I went after it again in full attack mode, played in a couple of bands, had some fun, but still missing the answer. Running out of time and still coming up short, I decided to seek help, and so here I am. I've been running through the courses, which have been very helpful in opening my eyes to an actual system for understanding the fretboard and it's confounding logic. I now want to discover that something extra. The creativity factor we all have in us, awaiting that something that sparks ignition. I'm happy to be here with all of you and good luck to you all. Shaan
Hi everyone. Looking forward to this masterclass. I've recently attended the Speed/Accuracy workshop with Doug last year and that was great fun and got me into a good practice habit. I love learning on guitar and taking my playing to new levels and I suppose in some ways keen to start to link more musical phrases and develop more that part of my playing. Norman
On 1/26/2022 at 11:03 AM, Breakthrough Guitar said: Welcome to the How To Turn Scales Into Music Mini-Masterclass! You are now in a group of guitar players who love lead guitar, and are serious about making MASSIVE progress FAST! In this post, we're going to go over how everything is going to work. And then, you will introduce yourself to the rest of the group! The Mini-Masterclass is from Monday 1/31 until Wednesday 2/02. Each day you'll find the workshop lesson in the "Daily Exercise" section. First, let's cover how to access your lessons and resources: Within your “How To Turn Scales Into Music Mini-Masterclass” group, you’ll see 3 sections: General Chat, Daily Exercises, & a Bonus Section. The General Chat is for talking all things guitar, asking questions, and connecting with your fellow guitarists. The Daily Exercises section is where all 3 of the Daily Exercises will be posted. Here is where you can ask questions and talk about the exercises themselves - and even post your own progress for feedback! The Bonus section is where you can find an exclusive “advanced” lesson & special backing track to accompany it (released on Day 3). Lastly, after your Mini-Masterclass starts, lessons & exercises will be uploaded. That way, you can review as much as you want, and go at your own pace. Now that you know how the community works, go ahead and INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN A REPLY BELOW! You can tell us about your journey so far, what you're looking to accomplish, your favorite guitars and artists, or anything else you want to share! I'm a keyboard player from the 70's.... Started playing bass to fill in when a bass player couldn't be found to cover all our jobs.... got interested in playing guitar and started playing back up rhythm for a folk singer... guitar progress kind of stopped there especially since due to age, life, work etc I stopped playing out. I was recently injured, received serious brain damage, was expected to die or become vegetative... I'm back anyway, just missing some memory and seemingly moved backwards in time with regard to playing instruments... I had to retire so here I am, wanting to learn... Oldfrt
I'm Dennis, an old, retired guy trying to relearn after 30+ yr hiatus to raise family and finish my career. Was a picker, James Taylor style or a rhythm guy. Always wanted to play lead so that's why I'm here.

Pat Faircloth
Hello everyone. My name is Pat. I've been playing the guitar for many years, but I never progressed very far. Then a hand injury put out of business for quite a while, and I just never picked the guitar back up for 20+ years. I retired last June. Now that I have plenty of time I decided to start playing again. I've always wanted to play the lead, but was never good enough. Never had a music lesson, so I'm self-taught. I was amazed at how much I had forgotten. This program has been great, and fun. I took the blues master class and loved it. I'm getting better every day. Looking forward to working in this master class with all of you.

Karins
Hi All. Karin here to learn all I can and apply it. Am still in Doug's class, which is so much better than I expected or hoped it to be. Many be Danny's class will be, also! I was Girl with Guitar in 60's and early 70's, singing/playing folk/folk-rock/folk-blues stuff of the times. In the intervening many years my guitar patiently waited in it's case most of the time. I did listen a lot, mostly to jazz, introduced to me by my now-late husband, who was a drummer, primarily jazz (though that was not how he earned a living on my watch). I want to learn to really play, not just adequately accompany myself on guitar, and have been working through Jonathan's program during covid, as well as another program. For the past couple of years I've been listening to, learning, a lot of doo-wop and other 50's and early 60's music. So much fun. Oh, am doing a local open mic, which has been quite terrifying and wonderful at the same time. Hope to find appropriate folks to play with. Robert Oswald
Hi everyone! Bob here. Well it is time to get with it again after many many years of just playing a little here and there. Had a band in the 60's and we played them all. But after 33 years of marriage and raising a family which is a beautiful experience. It is now time to enjoy what I always did. Play guitar the right way.
