Hi everyone. I have played many instruments over the years - clarinet from age 11 to age 22, piano since age 40 (I'm 69 now), recorder, and harmonica. I've been playing guitar since I was 15 (I'm now 69) and it has been a significant part of my life.  I played in coffee houses back in the late 1960's and early 1970's when such places were considered "far out, man."   I have played for more sing alongs than I can count.  I've been in two folk song-type bands.  All that let me get pretty good at strumming chords and finger picking.  My son built a Telecaster-style guitar for me a couple years ago and I realized that playing electric guitar with an emphasis on the blues is a completely new challenge for me. As a folk musician, I never needed to know pentatonic scales or how to solo up and down the neck.  I have found several on-line teachers that I really like.  (I found the couple times I tries private lessons a waste of time and money.)  Breakthrough Guitar seems to offer a different approach than other methods and I am excited to explore that method along with all of you.
