Mark F
Hi members, I’m new to the forum but excited to be here. I started my journey on a trip to Hawaii where I picked up a ukulele. I was self taught for about a year and since then have taken some lessons. I have been playing for about 3 years and enjoy playing the ukulele jamming with friends who play the guitar. I thought how hard could it be to play the guitar? I have an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar but mostly play the acoustic. Well it’s been almost 6 months now and l have been taking lessons on the guitar. Lessons are good but in my mind progress is slow and I haven’t had that aha moment. I would love to be able to pickup the guitar and play any kind of genre and sound good.
Austin Carter
Welcome to the forum @Mark F. Big fan of the Ukulele. Fell in love with it the first time I heard Israel Kamakawiwo'ole sing and play it. You mention not having that aha moment yet. We have a free e-book around the Aha moment that we had and that has helped a lot of our members. I linked it there and it'll take you to your backstage area. I recommend taking a look at it, because it might help you look at playing guitar a little different and help you progress a bit faster. Of course, progress on the guitar is something that can feel slow but, like being healthy, the right mindset and consistency as a lifestyle and not something you jumpstart and earn over night is the key. I'm glad you've joined the forum, because as it continues to grow it's only going to help everyone reach their next breakthrough. And I'm excited for when we're updated on yours.
