Marcel
Hello everyone, I am an 'oldie' (66) trying to finally get the basics right, and I must admit that over the past couple of months my technique has shown a lot of progression byfollowing Breakthrough Guitar! I am a fingerpicker playing a classical guitar to allow for much longer practice time (steel strings hurt!). Favourite players I like to listento: Leo Kottke, Tommy Emmanuel, Merle Travis, etc. My goal: being able to really play music without stumbling over basic techniques. Fred Soukup
@MarcelWelcome, I also play classical guitar, but after playing the electric guitar for a while and developing callouses on my fingertips it is easier to play the acoustic guitar as well. I listen to Merle Travis on occasion as well. Fred 🎸
Marcel
Fred, Thanx, always nice to hear from like-minded guitarists! My steelstring (a well made Australian instument) has medium gauge strings which I like for playing with some power. On the shelf, however, I already have a slightly lighter gauge set available which I will mount soon. Hopefully these will allow for longer playing time without pain;) Other interests: ragtime (Ton van Bergeijk). Marcel
